Kids’ fascination with coins

Don’t you notice how little children seem to be so fascinated with coins? Thanks to Barney and that video he made a couple of years back about coins and counting, with kids counting the coins in their pockets and tapping their pockets to jiggle those little coins to make such an interesting sound. Children are so delighted they would start eyeing you while you check out your purse or take out some cash from your wallet. It would be best if you indulge them sometime and let them play with the pennies in your coin purse. Just make sure to not leave them while they are at it or to keep your coin purse tightly shut to prevent untoward incidents from happening.

Couch potatoes

My kids spend a great deal of time in front of the computer and television this summer. That’s the downside of having two computers and two television sets at home. When one kid doesn’t want to watch a certain television program, he or she would turn on the other tv set, or play computer game to while away the time.

I’m afraid these kids will grow big heavy lack of physical activity. As a worried mom, I don’t want them to reach the point where they have to use diet pills to shed excess fat because of inactivity. They should spend one hour of physical activity every day.

The future designer

My  son looks up to his big sister (even if they often bicker for the smallest and insignificant reasons). He is into drawing or designing, too. He uses Photoshop to make his dress designs for virtual dolls. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day he’ll come up with a long line of designs for jewelry collections, including artcarved rings.

When I heard of young Filipino designers who excel or make a name for themselves overseas, I couldn’t help but be proud and imagine that someday, my son will be successful like them.
