Hand-painted shoes
This is one of the limited hand-painted pairs released by Happy Feet. My son is happy to be able to grab this pair. It’s the only remaining pair for his size. It costs between P900 to P1,000 ($20-$25), but we did not pay in cash. No, it’s not free. We used the gift certificates issued to my husband. (The amount of GCs is equivalent to the total number of unpaid sick leave incurred by hubby for one year.) I was able to buy something for myself, too. I wish there are also available gift certificates or coupons for apparel so we’ll be able to save cash when we buy new clothes for the holiday season.
38th Anniversary
PJI recently celebrated its 38th anniversary. Not much has changed from its old building in Port Area. It’s the same old building that I used to go to everyday (except on days when I’m on coverage or on stand by at the government office I got assigned to) for 15 years. Sadly, only few technical employees are left to operate in the area since the owner decided to transfer the business in Makati. The gigantic printing machines and Industrial pc that are being used to publish newspapers everyday are still found in the old address. I have so many fond memories of the old PJI office including the friendship I have develop with some co-workers and bosses who are no longer working there. Some friends are still there and we connect through social networking sites.
