Christmas gifts

Like the past Christmases, this year is no different for my kids. They still receive something from some of our relatives and their ninongs and ninangs on Christmas day.

Naomi’s gift from her Ninang Badet. Thank you Ninang.

Instead of toys (which is no longer appropriate because they are big kids now), my kids are given cash gifts. The kids use their money to buy the things they want. My daughter now invests in drawing or coloring materials for her sketching hobby. My son, on the other hand, well, he collects toys (sorry, but he doesn’t want me to specify). 🙂

Ang Pao from Ninong and Ninang

When they were little they’re too excited to unwrap their presents for they knew the boxes contain toys. My daughter used to get ragdolls, cash register toy and a battery-operated microphone as gifts. My son’s favorite Christmas presents were stuffed animals, toy train, and dinosaurs.

Promotional items to boost your business

One of the effective means to promote a new business is through giving away tokens like promotional pens. I’ve attended a few events marking the launching of new products or opening of new stores and I observed that guests are looking forward to receive tokens from event organizers. For myself, I like to get pens and bags for their useful purposes.

Recently I received two cute pens from Ainon. It was part of the gift bags that contain a lot of useful stuffs from various sponsors, given to us during the Christmas party organized by Marce Peh and Mommy Joy.

Nostalgic “papag”

I saw some pictures of pine beds in one site and can’t help but remember the house I grew up in. The flooring on the second floor of our old house and our bed were made of bamboo strips. The bed, which we call papag, brings so many memories as a child. During summer months, my cousins and I would play on the bamboo bed, we would eat our snack and take afternoon nap there. I rarely see families who use bamboo bed these days. Bamboo beds nowadays are more stylish and a bit expensive compared to our lowly papag in the 70’s.
