Online art venue for my daughter

My 13-year-old daughter recently joined two art websites and she’s already receiving positive comments from other members whose works are very impressive. DevianArt.com and ArtWanted.com are my daughter’s latest favorite sites to log on everyday. She posted her old and recent drawings there and make friends with other art enthusiasts. I think my daughter is beginning to find her own place under the sun. I’m so proud of my daughter.

I’m sharing you the links to her profile at Deviant and ArtWanted just in case you have time to check out these sites. Here’s her latest:

No assignment on weekends

Is this good or bad?

I pose this question to my daughter after learning that DepEd implements the “no assignment rule on weekend”.

My daughter somehow favors the new ruling considering that she is loaded with assignment on weekdays. An assignment-free weekend is a welcome development for my kids.

“I can focus on my drawings on weekend and will have more time to do other things,” my daughter said with a big grin on her face. She forgot to mention “more time” for FB’ing. 😉

On my part, I wish to borrow their extra time to help me around the house. I hope they’ll agree to help wash the dishes on weekends – the same assignment I’ve given them last summer.

I’m not sure how other parents and teachers will take this development. But for sure there are disadvantages to this program. How about you? What do you think of this new ruling of DepEd. How you and your kids will benefit from it? I’ll be glad to hear from you.

My bad. Does the rule applies only to public elementary school?
